Privacy Policy

Overview

BloqLoft is built to keep your data on your device. The app has no accounts to create, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no ads. Your quilt designs, blocks, palettes, and fabric photos are stored locally on your iPad and never leave it unless you choose to share, export, or sync them. We do not sell your information, and the little we do collect — such as an email address you give us for support or updates — is used only for the purpose you gave it to us.

Information We Collect

The BloqLoft App

BloqLoft does not require an account and contains no analytics or crash-reporting software. If we ever add optional diagnostics in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your permission first.

Purchases

BloqLoft is purchased through the Apple App Store. Apple processes your payment and billing information directly, and we never receive or store your payment card details or billing address.

Camera & Fabric Photos

With your permission, BloqLoft uses your device's camera to photograph fabric for your stash. Photos you take, and images you import from your photo library, are stored on your device inside the app's library. BloqLoft never uploads them anywhere. They leave your device only when you export a backup, share a design, or turn on iCloud sync.

iCloud Sync (CloudKit)

If you turn on iCloud sync (where available), BloqLoft uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your projects, quilts, fabrics, and settings across your devices. This data is stored in your personal, private iCloud database — we cannot access or read it. It is transmitted through Apple's iCloud infrastructure and is governed by Apple's own privacy policy in addition to this one.

In-App Help Content

The Handbook and help pages inside the app are loaded from our website (help.bloqloft.com). Like any web request, our server records standard access logs, which include your IP address and device type. These logs are used only to operate and secure the site.

Early Access & Announcement List

If you sign up for early access or announcements on our website, we collect your email address, the date you signed up, whether you volunteered as a beta tester, and, if you arrived from a link we shared, basic referral information (such as which post or campaign brought you). We use this only to send you BloqLoft news. Announcement emails are sent through our mailing service, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Contact & Support Requests

When you use the contact or support form on our website (or email us directly), we collect:

• Your name and email address
• The topic and message you send
• Optionally, your device model and a screenshot, if you choose to include them

This information is used only to resolve your request. You may ask us to delete past support interactions.

Our Website

Our website uses no analytics and no tracking cookies. All fonts, icons, and other assets are served directly from our own server — no third-party content networks are involved. Our web server keeps standard access logs for security and troubleshooting.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

• Respond to support requests and contact messages
• Send announcements to people who asked for them
• Operate and secure our website and help content
• Comply with legal obligations

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. Data is handled by third parties only when necessary to:

• Process your purchase through Apple's App Store
• Sync your data across devices via Apple iCloud (CloudKit), if you turn sync on
• Host our website and deliver email (our hosting provider, and our mailing service for announcement emails)
• Comply with legal requirements

Data Retention

Your designs and fabric photos live on your device for as long as you keep them — we never hold a copy. Information you send us (mailing-list signups, support messages) is retained only as long as necessary to support you or as required by law. You may request deletion of your personal data at any time.

Your Choices & Controls

You can:

• Unsubscribe from announcement emails at any time
• Ask us to delete your mailing-list entry or past support correspondence
• Revoke BloqLoft's camera access in iOS Settings at any time
• Turn iCloud sync off (where available), keeping your data solely on your device
• Export or delete your designs, fabrics, and palettes directly in the app

Children's Privacy

BloqLoft is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it.

Contact & Legal Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California), you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information. Because BloqLoft keeps your designs on your device, most of your data is already under your direct control. For anything we hold — mailing-list entries or support correspondence — contact us and we will honor your request. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be at this address, and the "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any revision. If a change materially alters how we use information we already hold, we'll ask for your permission before it takes effect.
